Purpose of the Study: conduct a systematic review of measures of health status for the specific stroke condition that incorporate content relating to domain of activity and participation and to analyze their psychometric characteristics. Methods: the review was carried out in two steps. In the first, the measures were identified as well as their contents. In the second, a search was made on studies that report information about its psychometric properties. The electronic databases PubMed, Cochrane, EMBASE and PEDro were used in both steps and searched for the period first of January of 1970 to 31 March 2011. The selection and analysis of the studies were performed by three reviewers against previous criteria’s. Results: in the first phase 125 potential measures were identified which, after the application of inclusion criteria, resulted in a final sample of 32. In the second step, after the evaluation of the psychometric property of the 32 measures, another four were excluded which resulted in a final sample of 28 measures. Conclusions: all measures that were assessed show data reliability and validity, but only 39.3% show responsiveness and 17.9% clinical significance. 96.5% of the measures that were included contain items related to the domain of mobility (d4) and in 53.6% of the measures this is the only domain covered
