Abstract

Objective: This study analyzed the relationship between stress, resilience, social support (SS)and quality of life (QoL) in menopause, as analyzed differences between women in differentstages of menopause in the psychosocial variables under study.Method: Quantitative study and cross-sectional, in a single moment. Stress, resilience, SS,physical and psychological QoL in menopause were evaluated in a sample of 135 menopausalwomen through the completion of self-reporting instruments, via online. Results: Statistically significant differences were observed in different stages of menopauseonly at SS level. Women in perimenopause reporting higher SS levels. Stress correlatednegatively with physical and psychological QoL, and resilience and SS correlated positivelywith physical and psychological QoL. In addition, it was found that more years of schooling, less stress and more resilience predict better physical and psychological QoL in menopause. Conclusions and Implications: These results suggest that QoL does not vary in different stagesof menopause, in addition, higher education, less stress and higher resilience were associated with better QoL. Further studies are needed to identify which specific resilience factors can beassociated with better QoL, in this transitional phase of women´s lives.
