Abstract

The integration of information systems and technology based communication is a reality increasingly present in the day-to-day life of organizations and learning communities. The challenges triggered by both of them arise from an analysis of organizational needs and an attempt to approximate the labour market to students, enabling them to enhance their learning experience. These concerns are reflected in a great number of changes that are occurring in the nowadays learning communities and providers, including at higher education level. Currently the students can be more autonomous in their learning process, finding strategies that suit their learning style by supporting themselves in technology underpinned in their relationship with the teacher or tutor and the knowledge itself. E-Learning focuses on the role of the online tutor by putting the emphasis on the student, who becomes the heart of the learning process. This educational environment mediated by technology requires greater collaboration and participation from the students as it involves a continuous communication, which allows a more precise control. It is in this context that we create this e-learning module, taking into account the needs expressed by students and learning communities, that we offer a up-to-date and practical proposal. Adopting as a method of research and development a hybrid model based on the model of Allessi & Trollip and on the model of integration by goals of Peres & Pimenta, we developed this study, which the empiric component is a e-learning module on the different modalities of payment in the E-commerce market, presented in eight subjects. This study is a formative service that aims to contribute to the learning process of everybody who wants to learn more about payment systems in the digital world.
