Abstract

This study aims at pondering the role of the writer while usher of a world that, in a vertiginous spiral, appears to want to escape our comprehension, deeply charged with senses needed to be understood by us. Based on the reading of Myra, a novel written with a woman’s touch, we questioned the existence of feminine writing, as a specific form of questioning the world. The present, the intricacy and the indefiniteness of the post-modern concept emerged as a reflection point relatively to the intertextuality and all the discursive intersections. In order to attain that, we defined some theoretical assumptions relayed to the history of feminism, the ascent of writings of feminine authorship during the last century and a critical reflection of the most recent research on post-modernism. It was within this context that we integrated the writer and began to analyze the novel, guided by the memory of the author/narrator, observing, inquiring, reflecting not only about the present time but also the past and the future. Finally we tried to show how the work of art represents the life of its author and how it, independently of gender, gives us the vision of the World, Time and the capacity of self regeneration and the surpassing of itself that only a human being has.
