This document appears in the master's degree in Nursing with specialization in paediatrics and child health and its primary purpose the achievement of self-reflection on training experiences. So ambition to describe and reflect on the activities developed in stages in order to achieve predetermined objectives, and thereby gain skills in management, care, training and research. These objectives include personal objectives outlined in the preparation of a draft stage and cross-cutting objectives to all graduates of master's degree in Nursing with specialization in pediatrics and child health proposed by the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) - Institute of Health Sciences (ICS) Porto, evident in the guide stage beforehand. The stage corresponded to 750 hours of work (of which 540 contact hours and 210 hours of individual work), held from April 20, 2009 to 30 January 2010 and was divided into three modules. The module I ran on the Child Health at the Health Centre of São Martinho do Bispo (Coimbra). In this module stage had the opportunity to assist children in various age groups, conducting surveillance consultations, vaccinations, tests for early detection, education activities for formal and informal health care and even children with acute illness. Already Module II on Medical and Surgical Services in settings of acute and chronic held at the Paediatric Hospital Center of Entre Douro e Vouga Unit, San Sebastian and allowed me to provide nursing care for children up to 16 years with medical conditions (acute and chronic) and surgical. The stage in this service has provided me the experience of accompanying a child from admission until discharge, through the BO and I regain, which allowed me to his assistance in pre-, intra-and postoperatively. Finally, the module III with respect to the Paediatric Emergency Services (SUP) and Service of Neonatology, having lasted, respectively SUP Hospital Infante Dom Pedro de Aveiro (HIPA) and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Center Among the hospital Douro e Vouga, Unit of St. Sebastian. The first service allowed me to care for children of different ages in a state of emergency and urgency. With regard to the stage in the NICU, this allowed me to care for newborns in the context of intensive care and intermediate care. In short, each of these modules proved to be singular in my learning. Although it has seen in all children / families, I believe that each possessed its own peculiarities. So, just watching children / families in various contexts I could acquire skills to care for the child / family as a specialist in Child Health Nursing and Pediatrics.
