Abstract

The present report aims to analyze and improve the Porto Technical Centre (PTC) reporting process. The goal is to create or amend the report documents that allow the analysis of the company’s economic performance in order to become more precise, faster and better presented, increasing the perceptibility of the value that PTC creates. The report describes a work accomplished over a curricular internship course, whose methodology was based on the analysis of the company’s reporting process and documents. As a result, several reports were amended while others were created, proposing performance indicators based on the study of the Balanced Scorecard model. The report begins with a presentation of the worldwide car industry and its impact in the global economy. Then, it will be described the Yazaki world, since the mother company, Yazaki Corporation, through the European Division and the Portuguese subsidiary, to the PTC, the technical center where the internship was held. Later, the strategic management and performance analysis model BSC is approached, where its main ideas are presented, through a literary review of this methodology. Finally, it will be described the process and documents of the PTCs operating business reporting and it will be presented the improvements made.
