This study was thought to complete some lack of national studies and specific knowledge about the perceptions and meanings that children and youth involved in law feel about the judicial process that lead them to foster care (Ribeiro, 2009). We pretend to understand which are the perceptions and meanings that young people attribute to the first judicial process and the respective foster care, and all of the changes it has in their lives, that's to say, our intention is to know which are their experiences about such events, through the subject’s speech. So we chose a qualitative methodology of a case study, using content analysis. After the results analysis, we came to the conclusion that our results contradict, partly, what is described in the literature. This may be due to participant's personal characteristics. However, these results are not representative, since we only have a single participant, but it may raise questions to be studied in the future
