This dissertation offers a broad analysis of love, addressing its various forms and representations in a panorama that connects different historical, cultural and social contexts. Gay love is presented as a dimension that enriches and complements the understanding of love in its entirety, demonstrating how its manifestations dialog with the universality of the theme. The research reflects on how artists and photographers have represented love, either by showing the affections of others or by expressing their own experiences and emotions. With an interdisciplinary approach that integrates history, art and philosophy, this dissertation examines how art, especially photography, interprets the nuances of love and challenges conventions, offering new perspectives and promoting greater representativeness. The work thus builds a comprehensive and sensitive view of love, highlighting its plurality and relevance in the human experience.
