This report comes under the 7th Master’s Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing, makes known, in a reflexively way, the whole route taken during the training, it is divided into introduction, development and conclusion. The activities developed in the training led to the development of skills in the provision, management and improvement of the quality of the nursing care in the area of Emergency Service from the 15th of September of 2014 to the 8th of November of 2014, Intensive Care Unit from the 10th of November of 2014 to the 17th of January of 2015 and Multipurpose Unit Continuous Care from the 28th April of 2014 to the 30th of June of 2014, completing the total of 180 hours in each of them. The latter, in treatment of wounds, was an optional choice and was due to existing interest in this area, which is all part of my daily practice. The methodology used was the analytical and descriptive method, through critical reflection. The methodology used was the analytical and descriptive method, through critical reflection. In the provision of care it was possible to observe, plan, intervene and evaluate to provide a specialized response to the needs of the patient and family in critical condition, there was an adaptation to the provision of home care, in the environment of the patient and family to solve the problems. In the Emergency Service with a large influx of patients, immediate stabilization care were provided, in the acute phase of the disease, in the Intensive Care Unit it was possible to give continuity to such care, emphasizing the autonomous interventions, Sedation and Pain Assessment Scales were applied. At this point the activities performed and observed are described on the basis of reflection in and about the practice developed; case studies were realized to apply the nursing process in a conscious and organized manner, someway to help to plan the most appropriate care plan in realities unknown to me. In Care Management the decision-making was optimized, the team method of work was integrated and the importance of leadership and the management of care was checked, somehow to give a quick and effective response in a timely manner ensuring safety. In the improvement of the quality of care problem-situations were identified and suggestions for improvement were given. The communication with the patient and family was one of the areas that aroused more interest to me, so it was created a leaflet with useful information about the patient and family’s circuit in the emergency service. In the Intensive Care Unit, an integrative literature review was performed, identifying the nursing interventions directed to the patient with cervical collar to prevent the occurrence of pressure ulcer. At home, it was created a document for wound monitoring and a manual with procedures for wound treatment to standardize and improve the provision of care. It was concluded that the training was a practical learning process to respond to the needs of the critical patient, the predefined goals were reached in an autonomous and advanced way in the provision of care conducting to personal and professional development, with gains in health for the patient, for the profession and the discipline.
