Introduction: Comfort is the main key in the provision of nursing care to the palliative patient. To comfort is a complex act. To promove comfort is being attentive to all the manifestations of distress, to take into account all the dimensions of the human being and to provide ways to relieve suffering (Morse, 2000). We can see that there is no clear definition for the concept of comfort. However, it is unanimous that it emerges as a lifelong need, both in health and illness, so that providing comfort is one of the main functions and a challenge for the practice of nursing care. (Ribeiro; Costa 2012). Aim of the research: The aim of this research is to understand the nurses' perceptions regarding the comfort of the Person at end-of-life, in a domicile, identifying what is the comfort conception for the nurse, what are the comforting needs and what are the interventions directed to the person at the end-of-life. Approach and Method: In this experiment, it was used a descriptive study of qualitative approach, through semi-structured interviews to 8 participants. The methodology used for the data processing was the content analysis (Bardin, 2014). Results: Related to the main key, foundings were obtained in three domains. The comfort conception is related to affective and physical expressions, emphasizing its multidimensionality; in the Domain of Comfort Needs we found the needs (physical, psycho-spiritual, sociocultural and environmental); related to the Comfort Interventions, we can conclude that actors are based on the needs, developing them into two categories: pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Conclusions: The main contribution of this study is to explore the phenomenon of comfort regarding to the end-of-life person, in a home context, reinforcing the importance that the nurse takes in the implementation of comfort care. Based on a humanistic-affective approach, the comfort process is mediated by the nurse-patient/family interaction.
