This study aims to analyze the contribution of sociocultural animation in personal and social development of students with special educational needs while in primary school. Sociocultural animation is endowed with a set of theoretical and practical methods which are applied to achieve several goals in social reality, providing students with with these characteristics, moments of pleasure and leisure. In this research we also intend to highlight the role of the sociocultural animator in his intervention with these students in the primary schools. In this sense we modified a questionnaire directed to special education teachers total of 100 who were teaching in schools of the same level of education in order to examine their contribution. According to the results we can conclude that primary schools play an key role in personal and social development of students with special educational needs, because it is at school that these students learn rules, responsibility, how to accomplish daily tasks, to read, to write and to get ready for the world of work, the sociocultural animation can make their contribution. We found out that the role of the sociocultural animator is important, he has great influence in students motivation, in the development of creative potential and socialization, support in promoting success in school and in social life.
