This Internship report was elaborate as part of the final stage of the 14th Master’s degree in Nursing with specialization in children’s and pediatric health, at the Health Science Institute – Porto from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. The internship took place in a Pediatrics inpatient service of a hospital, in a Community Care Unit and in a Family Health Unit. The methodology used to make this report was descriptive and reflective, supported by bibliographic research and scientific evidence, giving strength to the learning acquired during the internship. The competencies inherent in obtaining a master's degree with specialization in child and pediatric health were gathered into four areas of action: care delivery, nursing research, nursing training and care management. This structure allows the analysis of the path taken through the learning and skills acquired in the different care contexts, with the purpose of achieving the general and specific objectives previously defined as well as the reflections that they originated, developing scientific, technical, cultural and human skills as a Nurse with specialization in children’s and pediatric health. The reflexive analysis translated how competencies were achieved in the areas of action, namely Nursing Documentation, Communication, Pain, Care Partnership, Parenting, Illness and Hospitalization impact in Children, Children and young people at risk, Health Surveillance and School Health. Knowledge and skills acquisition allowed to do a reflection on the implications that this academic path had on my future clinical practice of care.
