: diálogos entre a fotografia e a música

Abstract

The thesis aims to investigate possible relations between the universe of photography and music, through a positioning of the photographic image in the context of a musical presence. Considering it is a work about photographic representation, this investigation seeks to deconstruct theoretical thinking about photography in the contemporary society. The study, centered on the photographic practice, will seek to reflect on the various narratives, visual, aesthetic and musical, inherent to a particular space and a close reality, and in this way, contribute, from the images of the authorial body of work, to a new discourse that reflects and considers the possible existence of musicality in an image. The investigation presents as its central thematic, on one hand, an analysis of the importance of the physical object of the diary and the archive as a photographic and artistic object in the diary`s work. On the other hand, a particular approach of the relation between image and music, with a theorical and practical framework, which seeks to find evidence of the presence of music, even if subjective, in the image. At the same time, and in order to support the ideologies and theoretical concepts of the photographic work, a contextualization and reflection of the authorial photographic practice is made, in particular of the works Silêncio (2019-2020) and O Diário (2020- 2021).
