Objectives were drawn in order to acquire skills of specialist nurse in the area of medical-surgical nursing specialization, highlighting scientific, technical, ethical and relational skills with the patient, significant family / person in a critical situation.Areas such as communication have been worked as a strategy promoting comfort and humanization care and prevention and control of hospital infection, which is determinant for promoting the safety of the patient and family in a critical situation and the quality of the patients care. This problem was elaborated along the stages constituting the guiding thread and based on the integrative review of the literature titled "Nurses' adherence to hospital infection prevention measures: difficulties and implementation strategies: Integrative Literature Review". From the interventions developed, I show the training and communication as a way of motivating health care workers, contributing to changing behavior and improving the quality of care provided.
