The Aging and Human Reception at a Public Hospital: Case study in the neurology service of the hospital of São João (CHSJ), Porto, born from the need of better understanding the paradigm of human reception in a public hospital, particularly the department for demyelinating diseases, for people with sixty or more years old, who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Starting from the object of study, we sought to identify programs and ways of human reception and, ointly, asses show these relational dynamics contribute to improve the quality of life and well-being of the elder who attends this hospital unit. With this purpose, we analyze the main causes of the phenomenon of aging population, polysemy and dialectic of primary aging and successful aging, and also the changes in the epidemiological model, with preponderance inchronic and degenerative diseases. In this case, the MS, while chronic ill ness and pathology. In this sense we come to the heart of the object of study chosen-the human reception - in hospital context, in the Neurology Service, department of demyelinating diseases, particularly in the reception of elders suffering from MS.
