Abstract

Each new technological solution goes through different stages of maturity in its adoption process by organizations. At the beginning, one does not always does not always have a global perception of its potential, functioning and control for effective exploitation. In the case of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) it was no different, but the technological resource is now better known, adopted and applied. The present study has the overall objective of identifying the approaches for adopting RPA in organizations and the respective effects of its implementation. A literature review was then carried out using the Scoping review approach, which identified and grouped, in a clear and rigorous way, the main benefits and challenges that organizations face with the implementation of RPA. With the analysis of this perspective, it was possible to conclude that RPA is, without a doubt, a technology that can elevate organizations, making them more efficient and, as such, competitive and creating more value, allowing, then, organizations reduce the costs of their processes, be more efficient, make fewer errors and, consequently, bring greater satisfaction to employees and their customers. Although many organizations are adopting RPA, one of their biggest obstacles is the lack of knowledge that exists regarding RPA and the opportunities it can create in the future. For the adoption of technology to be more efficient, organizations need to outline a good implementation strategy and, above all, be able to guide their employees, to allow RPA to reach its full potential.
