The Humor is a tool used since Ancient Greece, either socially, comically, emotionally or as a health promoter. Also used by nurses, this is one of the new, more modern, approaches to caring. This report describes, analyzes and reflects about the path of acquisition of competences of Master in Nursing and Specialist in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing, as well as its impact on my professional behavior as a future Specialist Nurse. After a conceptual and historical approach to the topic of humor, the transversal theme to the later stages is narrowed: Humor in the care of children and adolescents. It is essential to understand the connection between humor and care, to understand the operationalization in the Nursing area, where the theme is considered an autonomous intervention. The theoretical framework chosen to support the report and daily practice was Katherine Kolcaba's Theory of Comfort. The scoping review constitutes the scientific content of this report, validating the value of humor in nursing care for children and adolescents, as well as the need for continuous investigation. At each stage, it was decided to use a project methodology with the definition of specific objectives and the execution of activities to achieve the previously defined target while maintaining the same general objective for all aspects. At the Pediatric Emergency Service stage, a critical reflection, as well as a Guide for the training of humor for nurses were developed. At the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the focus was the humor of the parents of premature newborns, since it is not possible to address this issue with the later ones, having developed a hospital procedure as well as positive parenting strategies. At the Pediatric Inpatient Service, I carried out a case study that mirrors some of the humor interventions found by the scientific review, held a training session for Nurses for the application of humor in nursing care, created the “Humor Cart”, a collection of useful tools for it’s promotion, drafted a hospital procedure subsequent to the activity. With the conclusion of this trajectory, it was possible to achieve numerous Specialized Nurse Common Competencies Profile and Specialized Child and Pediatric Health nurses Competencies Profile, and Skills conferring the Master's degree, as stated in the Dublin Descriptors.
