O impacto das apresentações solidárias na motivação dos alunos de violino

Abstract

This Report was carried out within the scope of the Master’s in Music Teaching at the Catholic University of Portugal – Porto and is divided into two distinct parts. The first, which highlights the Professional Practice (PP) carried out and the second part, which contains the scientific research associated with the subject: “The impact of solidary presentations on the motivation of violin students” The PP took place at Escola Básica e Secundária do Cerco do Porto, through the Youth Orchestra of Bonjóia (OJB) project of the Curso de Música Silva Monteiro (CMSM) music school during the 2021/2022 academic year under the scientific guidance of PhD Eliseu Silva and under the cooperative pedagogical guidance of Professor Ana Patrícia Lopes. In this primary section of the report, is described the host entity of my internship and provided a small professional and personal background. Subsequently, is presented the methodologies used and a conclusion where is carried out an evaluation of the entire course. The Pedagogical Research Project (PIP) that I developed during the PP consisted in the realization of a solidary performance by 7 violin students from Escola do Cerco, who attended the 2nd and 4th grade, aged between 12 and 14 years. The public hearing took place at the Senhora do Calvário Parish Social Center (CSPSC) at the end of the school year. With this project I intended to assess whether this type of performances, unorthodox in the regular curriculum of music students, had any impact on their motivation to study the instrument. At the end of the report, I present the results, taking into account the analysis of the statistical data obtained through questionnaires to the students who participated in the project.
