This study seeks to measure the impact that the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has on the efficiency of the Nors group’s shared services. Applying a quasi-experimental methodology, in the context of accounts receivable processes of the shared services of the Nors group, the results point to long-term efficiency gains and, under certain circumstances, also for short-term efficiency gains. Overall, the results suggest that, in the long term, the implementation of an ERP has improvements in efficiency, although in the short term these improvements are not evident due to the learning process underlying the new system. This exploratory research is relevant to the scientific community when analyzing short-term and long-term impacts, but also for the decision-making of the Nors group in future phases of implementation of the CORE project.
