Abstract

Labor inspection is a topic that has become increasingly important and, therefore, it is important to understand and explain the dilemma that labor inspectors experience in the exercise of their role and to understand whether the way in which they act will influence your satisfaction with work. This study therefore aims to understand the labor inspection process and its role in promoting decent work, as well as understanding whether the way in which inspectors work influences their satisfaction at work and identifying the strategies they use to make their job better more efficient activity. The method used in the present study was qualitative in nature, using the technique of semi-structured interviews. To collect sociodemographic data, a questionnaire adapted to the objectives of the study was created. Regarding the participants, the snowball technique was used, obtaining a sample of eighteen inspectors, eleven male and seven female, with varying seniority in the role. The results allowed us to obtain a more in-depth view of the labor inspection process and the role of the labor inspector in specific. Furthermore, they allowed us to understand that the way in which labor inspectors work may have an influence on job satisfaction. However, they use different strategies to try to make their work efficient and, therefore, feel better satisfaction with their work.
