Abstract

On this dissertation we will address the issue related to the role of the subjects in the defense of the Environment, giving insight about the importance of environmental information and its access, in current context and constant evolution that we live in. It will be shown which way to go regarding the access of environmental information, the importance of participation, the obligations of the State towards the Environment and, finally, the importance of the NGOs in the security of this legal asset and in the agility of this informative and participatory process, in order to find solutions to the problems raised in this theme. For this purpose, the legislation on this subject will be analyzed, namely, the Aarhus Convention, Law no. 26/2016, 22 of August, the Directive 2003/4/CE, of the European Parliament and Counsel, 28 of January and Law no. 35/98, 18 of July, that we will make known the efforts carried out over the last few years in the materialization of the environmental cause.
