Abstract

This study focuses on the impact of emotional communication, in its dimensions of listening and expression, on the happiness of students and teachers. The objectives were to characterize emotional communication and happiness in the sample and to analyze the impact of some variables (age, gender, type of school, appreciation of learning, listening and expression) on the happiness of students and teachers. An online questionnaire was administered to a sample of 3130 students and 5038 teachers from the 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education (CEB) and secondary education, from public and private schools across the country, and the data was analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 28. The results showed that listening and expression have a positive impact on the happiness of students and teachers and that this happiness can be determined by different variables. In the case of students, the variable with the highest values was valuing learning and in the case of teachers, it was expression. Some implications of the study will also be presented.
