Looking back at my career gives me the opportunity to think critically about the variety of functions and tasks that I performed over thirty years, from my basic scientific training: a degree in history - archeology variant. This academic starting point seems now, in the light of this retrospective look, clearly limited in terms of technical and scientific preparation for the diversity and complexity of functions that occurred throughout my career. The continuous training, supplementary academic training and, above all, the diverse experiences that took place in a professional context, particularly the different positions and duties performed, permitted me to gain experience and redimension my ability to look critically at school and at the role that it should have in a contemporary society. It is from this perspective that this report is organized around three axes: in the first part I address the school as an organization, trying to analyze its theoretical framework; in the second part I intend to focus on the social role the school plays, and in the third part, I undertake a critical approach on the results achieved by the school social services and the opportunities offered to students who face unequal socio-educational conditions. At the end of this report I hope to leave a mark regarding my work experience, a critical vision with regards to the social role of schools and, above all, their equalizing dimension as an opportunity to offer each student their transformational journey to citizenship roles in order to meet the demands of our current society.
