Abstract

The future of Earth planet is compromised due to the mankind excessiveexploitation on our natural resources, which lowers the available resources for the nextgenerations, as well as increasing environmental pollution caused by the exploitation,resulting in the current ecological crisis. Regarding agriculture, this activity is responsiblefor 22% of total greenhouse gas emissions globally, contributing to the degradation of theEarth.According to integral ecology, citizens must be educated to adopt a lifestylefocused on food sustainability, trying to minimize food waste. The inclusion of ecologyin the school curriculum is essential, where the Catholic Moral and Religious Education(that aims to contribute to the integral development of young people) stands out, given itsobjective of shaping mankind in order to the common good. This report aims todemonstrate the importance of educating food sustainability and the minimization of foodwaste.
