It is impossible to remain unaware of the enormous potential that AI has been revealing, which initially might not have shown great impacts at a practical level, but recently has been revolutionizing not only the daily lives of the entire population, but also the business environment and those who operate in it. Thus, this master thesis was developed based on two major objectives. Firstly, in order to identify the potential of AI for the development and competitiveness of companies, a literature review was carried out adopting the scoping review approach, where the main advantages and implications of the AI’s use in the workplace were identified and grouped in a clear and rigorous way. And, secondly, through a questionnaire survey, analyzed by means of hypothesis testing, it was tried to understand the population's perspective about this dynamic. With the analysis of the two perspectives, it was possible to conclude that AI is undoubtedly capable of taking organizations to a new level, making them more competitive in the market and enabling the creation of value, either by its ability to assist employees, allowing productivity increases, by improving the consumer experience or even by predicting and solving problems. However, in order to make the best use of this union, companies need a good adaptation strategy and, above all, a great ability to help their employees, as they are still afraid of using AI and do not feel they have all the necessary skills for its use, not forgetting the feeling of uncertainty at the prospect of job cuts.
