This dissertation was written as part of the Master's Degree in Law, with a specialization in Private Law, and its purpose is to analyze one of the consequences that situations of family breakdown have for children and young people who are the fruit of this dissolved affective relationship, which is parental alienation. Analyzing the problem of parental alienation implies a brief explanation of the exercise of parental responsibilities, especially when we are faced with situations of family breakdown, such as divorce and separation. It is not always easy to reconcile these situations of family dissociation with the harmonization between the parents' rights to raise and maintain their children and the best interests of the child. With this dissertation, I will attempt to reflect on the solutions that our law offers in order to protect the child's right to socialize with both parents, not only through the already common process of changing parental responsibilities, but also in the context of the promotion and protection process.
