This report is part of the proposed methodology of teaching and learning in the field of a single course, the stage. This presentation boosts a work of self-reflection, imperative for the promotion of scientific-pedagogical potential improvements inherent in the replaced of the previous “traditional” model by a model based on skills development. Is inserted in the III Master Course of Nursing, with specialization in Medical Surgical Nursing from Catholic Portuguese University, Institute of Health Sciences, Pole of Beiras. The complexity of disease and size of resources imposed differentiation with singleness of professionals. Thus arises the need to attend the Specialization Course in Nursing Medical- Surgical, administered by the Institute of Health Sciences Pole of Beiras, Portuguese Catholic University. In the syllabus of this course are covered three stage modules: Module I, which corresponds to SU; Module II of the Service UCI and Module III, which is optional, which had accreditation. With this report concerning the analysis stage of the UCI and SU we needed to do a daily assessment, where we could analyze and reflect on the activities undertaken, acknowledging any flaws that would require a change in attitude, the various events of the stage and still whether the objectives have been achieved with the implementation of planned activities. The objectives we want to achieve with the completion of this report are: provide a brief characterization of the structural and organizational internship; describe the activities along the stages placing them in the context of a labor intensive care unit and an emergency department; assess and monitor achievement of technical competencies, relational and scientific acquired during internships. The methodology for the implementation of this report is based on the descriptive method through the description of the activities and the analytical method, through the analysis and reasoning based on pedagogical knowledge during the theoretical part of the course, as well as to report the experiences gained during the internship and research literature that we needed to do. The structure of this report is divided into three parts. In the first part concerns the introduction, where you give a brief presentation of the reasons that led to the present report, reference to training modules, places and dates where they were performed, and which are the objectives and methodology used to achieve them. In the second part is the analysis of the objectives set for these stage together with the analysis of activities and skills acquired, and finally, a conclusion will be drawn in which is made a little personal reflection of the work done as well as major contributions we receive and we left in the offices where we staged. The acquisition of skills, technical skill, planning and decision making towards complex and unpredictable situations, in the context of emergency department and intensive care unit, was a gain on the approach to critical patients. These behaviors lead us to greater autonomy, a higher quality care and greater social visibility, essential for the development of the profession.
