This dissertation aims to meet the lack of teaching materials in portuguese language for music education, instrument trombone. From a comparative study of two most relevant teaching methodologies instrument trombone, seeks to improve and organize the scientific and methodological learning about teaching trombone strategies, and expose methods to study technical development and sound. We intend to analyze and develop basic concepts for the formation of a trombonist based in the methodologies of André Lafosse and Edward Kleinhammer. The comparative study is part of a methodological approach of applied content analysis of this method of teaching instrument, and interpretive and technique categories addressed by both authors, such as the breath, mouth, joints, posture, effects, sound quality, pitch, rhythm. In the final part of this study we also propose a list of progressive exercises, which is based on methods analysis and experience as a performer and teacher of the author.
