With the present work we tried to investigate in the scope of the application of methodological strategies, namely in activities with an impact on Observation, used by teachers during their pedagogical practices, if they profit and promote the complex abilities of students. In this way, it is intended to validate the effect of the application of observation as a methodology of pedagogical practice, with the contribution to the development of students' complex abilities and consequent knowledge production. Focusing on the practices developed by a group of teachers from the third cycle of basic education and based on their perceptions, we sought to recognize in the strategies and instruments used by them, the contributions that gave rise to the joint reflection that follows . Based on the collaborative dimension of Supervision, the results were collected, from the application of data collection instruments - interview - from teachers and from the analysis of the pedagogical instruments used, followed by the elaboration of a contextualized reference, which allowed the inference of conclusions in the scope of the investigation initiated. Theoretical studies and investigations were carried out in the invoked areas, which contextualized the theoretical framework of this investigation. Methodologically, it is a qualitative contextual study, based on interviews with teachers, reflective analysis of available instruments and reports or narratives of these same teachers, within the scope of collaborative work and occasional sharing of the situation of pedagogical practice. Having problematized the issue that gave rise to the present study, within the scope of teaching practices, it was possible to perceive that: Teachers prioritize as strategies, activities focus on observation as a means to promote capacities for analysis, reflection and inferring knowledge learned; Students, when involved and challenged in the scope of these activities, develop, at different rates, significant skills; The acquisition of these significant capacities allows them to assess new concepts (meanings) and consequently the development of other more complex skills; The production of knowledge recommended by the current educational system is reflected in the students' learning throughout schooling, as a final product of personal and global educational success. Observation as an instrument of knowledge production may be a strategy to be recommended and encouraged in the context of the development of complex knowledge-promoting capabilities.
