Abstract

This paper studies Origama and its willingness to look for new markets that could contribute not only to its sales growth but also to a more steady sales flow throughout the year. Origama is a Portuguese startup that works in the textile industry by producing beach related products and after two years of considerable success, its founders want to pursue its internationalization process. The analysis that was developed has the purpose of understanding which is the most suitable option for Origama, taking into consideration not only its success factors, the founders’ motivations but also the different market specifications. Does problems / reasons that led them to seek new markets will be solved or were mere motives that resulted as motivations to go abroad? This thesis includes three different parts, first the Case Study, followed by a Literature Review of the subjects raised in the case, finally a Teaching Note to help instructors using the case in class.
