Abstract

The ADHD is one of the most common childhood disorders and that worries teachers within the classroom, because it has an undeniable impact on the school children’s lives. Usually these children have difficulty to staying focused and paying attention, difficulty in controlling behavior an excessive restlessness. They are very impulsive and show lack of attention and concentration. This study aims to analyze and compare the perceptions, attitudes, strategies and effective teaching practices of the 1st and 3rd cycles towards children with ADHD. In our study we chose the questionnaire as a tool for data collection, due to appear in the most suitable for our purpose, since its use is made of an impersonal way. Through this project, based on action research methodology, our sample consists of 150 teachers who were selected by interest, utility and availability. The results show that teachers have insufficient knowledge about ADHD. The conclusions of this assignment reveal that, due to ADHD causes are linked to genetic factors. According teachers, ADHD generates impact on the school context. They have a sort kind of difficulties, particularly in relationships with peers, difficulties sustaining attention, in tasks and activities that cause distraction and its greater mismatch of these children within the classroom. In his practice to these children, teachers emphasize the use of specific educational strategies such as the use of short, well-defined tasks, frequent supervision of the work and organization of the classroom. The results obtained concerning the comparison between cycles we found that there are differences with respect to the professional who must make the diagnosis, since the 1st cycle teachers consider the main Psychologist professional teachers while the 3rd cycle thinks being a doctor. Everything else there is great discrepancy between cycles.
