The present internship report analyses the news content of the “Jornal Nacional”, which is the main news of TVI, a television station owned by Media Capital Group. Throughout the work we describe the newsroom’s production routines. The entire process of news construction, from the selection of events to contacts with sources and the editing process of news pieces is commented upon. The business logic associated with the journalistic production on generalist television is also discussed on this report, which analyzes its impact on “Jornal Nacional”.
