Parody, as an imitation with a humorous purpose of a design or model, must draw inspiration from the characteristics of the appearance of the product it utilizes. However, parody must possess its own character to distinguish itself from the product it evokes. In this regard, one can understand the displeasure of the owner of a design or model upon seeing their creation as the object of criticism that may disrupt their exclusive rights and, consequently, their commercial activity. Therefore, this dissertation aims to understand how parody is admissible within the scope of this regime and, furthermore, if there is a possibility for the protection of a parody as a design or model.
