: o caso de aquisição do HIA pela CUF

Abstract

The Healthcare Industry, while going through the global crisis due to Covid-19 understood in a clearer way its importance in the core of all societies as well as the need of improving and have more services. Portugal has been living a crisis for several years caused by all SNS inefficiencies. These inefficiencies opened bigger doors to the private hospitals that, in contrast with SNS, year after years are developing themselves in the quickness of care and in improving health care by getting more patients. CUF, as a reference private hospital in Portugal, continues its expansion, now entering the Azorean market, which will allow the improvement of regional health. The study aims to find out what success factors were considered by CUF when acquiring HIA. The research question of the study is therefore: What are the success factors of an acquisition process? The research question will remain to be fully answered. The acquisition, being very recent, cannot provide clear post-merger data. Furthermore, only after 6 months will it be possible to start to have some results about the success of this acquisition. Nevertheless, interesting findings were found in this investigation.
