Abstract

The urgent need of changing the stigma of catechism, of reaching viable solutions that promote motivation and learning among the catechism learners, and these, associated to the general use of Information and Communication Technologies, are the motto for this study. The know-how, according to several investigators, should be the beginning of the application of teaching methods and techniques, which turn learning effective. Bearing this in mind, the User Generated Contents are becoming highly important amongst the education society nowadays. Taking the catechism learners to create their own materials or contents with the help of tutors, teachers or catechists, may turn to be more motivating and defying for adolescents and youngsters. However, till which point will the application of this new technique help in the spreading of the Word of Christ among the youngsters, who are, apparently, constantly being attracted by other interests, like the Internet, computer games and social networks? Is it possible to apply the technique with the support of catechists who do this voluntarily? Or, will it be necessary to invest on their apprenticeship, so that these methods may be applied? The use of this method may help reinforcing the lack of catechists, since the created materials, by some of the learners, may be used as backup for the learning of others, who, for several reasons, may not be able to go to catechism.
