Abstract

This work was performed at Centro de Fabrico de Padaria, belonging to Sonae company,and aimed the creation of an Excel program that would allow the improvement and the control of the packaging process in its bakery and pastry line.The idea for creating this program was based on the Kaizen philosophy, which is the continuous process improvement, which tries to minimize the costs of production and thus reduce the associated wastes. The objective of this software was to control the process of packaging, allowing a real perception of what was happening in the factory, managing the number of units that would pack per shift and the number of employees that would be placed on the packaging line, always based on buying orders. If there were no product to pack, employees were allocated to other functions.It was necessary to quantify the times of the tasks included in the process, analyze the cause of wastes and propose, evaluate and implement solutions to each problem. After implementation, it was essential to control the process, in order to verify whether the goal was being fulfilled. In conclusion, this project was very positive on the issue of logistics of the packaging sector, and even on the ability to meet the demand from a certain work plan order, allowing greater control of what goes on in practice in the company. The bakery packaging plan was implemented successfully, and continues to be used in the company. This program allowed a reduction in dead times, adding value to the company.
