The present work corresponds to a dissertation presented to the Portuguese Catholic University, Faculty of Education and Psychology to obtain a Master´s degree in Educational Sciences- specialization in Social Pedagogy and is entitled «Gift Pedagogy and Social Intervention- a case study». The study aimed to understand to what extent the principle of the Gift, as a primary social value, is present in the dynamics of socio-educational intervention. To find an answer to this concern, from a theoretical point of view, we resorted to a bibliographic review process centered on conceptual explanation of the notions of gift, human relationship, and socio-educational intervention. From an empirical point of view, a case study was chosen, referring to a concrete socio-community development project, framed by the interpretive paradigm, based on the use of documentary research and open interviews. In essence, and as shown above, the data collected and analyzed allowed us to conclude on the relance of donation as an intervention value, from a pedagogical perspective.
