This report is a result of my experience in the Master Course in Vocational Nursing Nature of UCP in the medical-surgical specialty, to obtain the title of Specialist Nurse, and it reveals the culmination of all learning, reflection and acquisition of skills developed throughout the academic module of the internship. The clinical practice was developed in three different modules: ICC, ICU and A&E. The issue of Infection was addressed in all of them, since it is a crucial problem which requires great attention from health professionals as it is an important cause of morbidity and mortality, which increases the length and cost of the patients’ stay. The clinical practice took place in ICC CHLN, where I developed skills in training, awareness and research in the ICU of the Hospital da Luz and the A&E in Cascais Hospital where I developed skills in the areas of research, in-service training, communication xxxx and skilled nursing care to medium / high risk patients, having contributed to the service investigation. I think that throughout this process I progressed continuously and independently contributing to my personal and professional development by acquiring the necessary skills of a Specialist Nurse, which will allow me to enforce best practices and be committed to improving the quality of nursing care
