Abstract

We present our professional practice with children with educational special needs. We emphasize the case which has been highly important for our study, making a small report on the development of a case study, involving a pupil with Trisomy 21. The aim of this report is to show the development of this child at school, to analyse his functional profile, an to find out about his own and his family’s expectations towards school, as well as understanding the adaptation in his process of learning. It was evident that pupils with Trisomy 21, need effectively a curriculum structure and a teaching methodology which are adequate to their characteristics in order to optimize their intellectual development. It’s been recognized that inclusion is fundamental for a complete self fulfillment of pupils with Trisomy 21. It is the duty of school, family and community to provide pupils with educational special needs with a real inclusion, allowing them to have a better future.
