This study is part of a wider research project that focuses on police action along foreigners and ethnic minorities. In this study we intend to access to the perspectives of foreigners and ethnic minorities facing to the police and its operations. For this purpose, it has been used the semi-structured interview in a sample of eight immigrants living in Portugal. Based on the reports of the participants, the results point to the discrimination of immigrants in Portugal on the basis of ethnicity. A 'skin color' seems to assume itself as the most prominent dimension in discriminatory treatment, both by the general population, as by law enforcement authorities. Secondly, the geographical origin as the differentiating dimension of the degree discrimination, with the individuals from the Eastern countries to be described by the participants as the most discriminated against in Portugal.
