This study addresses stereotype threat1 in the active older members 2 and in the diverse agents which intervene directly or indirectly in the process of attraction and retention of the older active members. It further analyses the experience of the losing and looking for a job in the active older members. The data collected among six Institutional Agents (two Human Resources Managers, one Human Resources Consultant, two IEFP Professionals and one Social Educator) and nine Older Active members all points to a negative attitude of the active older members in jobs where physical effort is required, however, it is also mentioned the positive aspects of experience and knowledge that they possess. As for losing and looking for jobs we note some negative consequences in both mental health and psychological well-being.
