: contributos para o desenvolvimento da atividade turística de Celorico de Basto

Abstract

The thesis was performed using secondary sources such as updated bibliography and primary source through an interview. This dissertation is basedon the desire to carry out a Strategic Planning for Tourism in Celorico de Basto,and our objective is to make the reader understand the importance of carrying out a Strategic Development Plan for Tourism in the Municipality. We explain theconcept of it and its purpose. We indicate several measures carried out by Turismo do Porto and the North of Portugal and by the governing bodies of Celorico de Basto. We analyze aspects related to Territorial Planning and the PDM. We contextualize the destination, in terms of physical and human space. CB is part of the Tâmega e Sousa Region, Braga District, with CB having 15parishes and 17,677 inhabitants. We demonstrate the authentic tourist offer of the county and the need for a good administration of it to increase the number of tourists and the number of nights. In terms of Heritage, we go from concept to Religious and Civil Heritage. We refer to Parties, Pilgrimages, Fairs, Pilgrimages and Folklore, being one of its main cultural events. We also talk about Natural Heritage, Nature Tourism, Sports and Activities, Gastronomy, Wines and Enotourism, presenting several estates with a high quality of Wine and Enotourism. Tourist Enterprises are largely rural. In addition to Supply, we wanted to analyze Demand, knowing that the evolution of CB Tourism was on the rise from 2017 and, despite a drop in 2020 due to the pandemic, positive numbers are back from 2021 onwards. , after studying the secondary sources, we find it pertinent to draw the conclusions from the interview with the Mayor of CB, Dr. José Peixoto Lima, concluding that he agrees that CB is going through a positivemoment in its Tourism, not forgetting that it is necessary to protect the tourist resources of the region, as well as to bet on articulation between the regions of Basto. We also understand that a Strategic Plan for the Development of Tourism at the level of Terras de Basto makes sense. With all this information, we carriedout a SWOT Analysis to give a more succinct view of Tourism in the county.
