With this assignment we aim to perceive the bound that connects Braga’s teenagers from the first quarter of the 21st century with social media influencers, whilst trying to understand if, the role that digital media producers play, is becoming, from the teenagers’ point of view, the one that Christ should represent: a guide, a Leader. Firstly, we’ll approach who these teens are and what means to be a teenager in the first quarter of the 21st century. After that, we’ll discuss the relevancy of approaching the concept of generation(s). Later on, we will go through the definition of digital influencers, if this is a new concept or merely the evolution of pre-existing ones, as well as their power and skills to persuade, where do those come from, and how do they use them. After that, we will disclose the context where the survey was held among a chosen group of teenagers who represent the statistical universe described. We will also address the curricular context this topic brings out into what EMRC is concerned as a subject. Finally, we will present the lesson plans and main pedagogical resources used during the lessons, as well as small self-reflections on the teacher’s practice.
