After 2020 and 2021, marked by lockdowns and several restrictions on the sector of tourism, which faced an uncountable amount of loss, 2022 is presenting the challenge of the post-pandemic scenario. The challenge, then, is to understand and predict the medium-long term effects on customer behavior in tourism and to understand the emerging trends. Between the latest, one is particularly taking place: workation. This new formula is a mixture between vacation and work, being the possibility of the employee to work from another place besides the workplace, with a laptop and the willingness to escape the routine. Taking into account the larger number of companies that are designing hybrid or remote working modes as part of the work-life balance policy, the present paper suggests that tourism, from a destination marketing and communication perspective, should look at it as an opportunity. Therefore, a complementary strategy to attract workationers from foreign countries in Centro de Portugal has been designed, by analyzing the destination through statistics and trends by province
