This report was based on an internship carried out at the Santa Luzia ArtHotel, in thefront office department. Its objectives were to apply the knowledge acquired during the coursein a work context and to analyse the sustainability aspect, from the rationalisation ofenvironmental resources and respective good practices. The evolution of the hotel industry and the development of the hotel business in Portugal are fundamental parts, in order to understand the evolution of the sector, since its origins and respective phases. This parameter includes the forms of organisation of a hotel, in so far as all its services complement each other and the division of the various departments. Sustainability is an essential concept nowadays, given the need to save resources and preserve the environment. Hospitality has a strong impact on the awareness of society in general. It is strictly fundamental to understand the concept in its wide range of aspects, from social, cultural, economic and environmental. In order to understand the reality of the Santa Luzia ArtHotel, a detailed characterisation of its components and statistical data was carried out. The aim is to make known its services, target audience, values, vision and commercial strategy. In short, the theoretical content covered in the literature review could be put into practice in the internship and analysed later in the performance of the same.
