Projeto Barra, presented in the context of the master’s degree in Social Work in the field of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Social Economy, of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, intends to present a proposal for a response in the context of non-formal educational practices as promoters of protection and well-being for adolescents who live situations of social vulnerability. Adolescence is characterized by complex changes in biopsychosocial development and by the construction of the adolescents' own identity (Vanderley et al., 2020) that lead to changes in the individual, family and community spheres (cf. Andrade, 2012) , which gives this stage of life an ambiguous and vulnerable character. These changes are further accentuated when adolescents live situations of socialvulnerability, acquiring unfavorable perspectives of life and leading to the perpetuation of cycles of vulnerability and poverty. It is known, however, that there are protective factors at various levels that may mitigate the effects of adverse factors, contributing to adolescents having more adaptive results to these situations and breaking this cycle. The proposal is based on the results obtained in the process of interviewing specialists and in the literature review, allowed to consolidate a response in the context of the prevention of social vulnerability and risk in adolescence. Projeto Barra, in operation since 2018, aims to be a safe space that guarantees the increase of the well-being and perception of the sense of life of adolescents, discovering what they like, improving their talents and dreaming their future in a conscious and planned way, returning to the community what they build, in a logic of active participation and community development.
