Abstract

This document comes in the context of the course report inserted in the syllabus of MSc in Nursing with specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing for the degree of Master of Nursing in the area of specialization. With this report I intend to give visibility to the journey performed over the clinical training and their modules performed in the Medical Intensive Care, in Hospital Pedro Hispano, the Emergency Service, in Hospital de Braga and North Regional Branch of the Instituto Nacional de Emergência Médica. Assuming that the transformation of the experiences of clinical training in new skills and knowledge is not a simple task, with the completion of this report I set myself to develop an independent and reflective learning; forward the development and learning obtained during the clinical training, vehicle of improvement of personal and professional skills. Demonstrate a capacity for reflection, decision making and critical thinking about clinical practice, action taken, identification and analysis of situations-problem proposing solutions properly justified, develop a greater work autonomy, initiative, responsibility and ability organizational; improving communication skills on appropriate clinical practice and outcomes to understand what was done, as has been done and why it was done. The methodology used to implement the report's methodology was descriptive, analytical and reflective as it allowed, through a narrative character, in a detailed and objective, describes the experiences, the situations-problem encountered, solutions proposed and the difficulties experienced during implementation of the Clinical Training. With the option structure in three parts, I intend to facilitate their consultation through systematization and clarification of the information contained. The division by goal allowed me to identify the strategies implemented to achieve the acquisition and improvement of skills. They are identified by introduction, analysis and critical thinking skills developed and refined, and by conclusion. In the introduction, I provide to the global travel and training, the modules implemented and its justification, the choice and brief characterization of the local stage. In the development, I expose the performance run at each training field, I establish the relationship between the specific objectives that I proposed and the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge that allowed the execution of activities, the evolution of knowledge and knowledge to care and specific care, describing the experiences more memorable. In the conclusion, I reflect on the achievement of objectives, outputs and learning and reflections received that allowed changes in professional practice and personal and it will play in responding more effectively to the problems of the area of specialization in medical-surgical nursing, to the critically ill adult and elderly. The gains obtained by the completion of clinical stage passed to the level of the multidisciplinary team with whom I had contact, by sharing and exchanging experiences and knowledge, the acquisition and improvement of skills view to its being the improvement of nursing care provided that translate into health gains. These skills led to knowledge and expertise that were extrapolated to my professional context, the objective being positive change in the multidisciplinary team which I belong. The internship is a crucial period in the training of nurses. The jurisdiction exists only when it is applied, that means, its production is made by the school and by the place where it is applied, this last one having a crucial role in its acquisition. The aim is to develop autonomy, initiative, responsibility, creativity and decision-making based on critical thinking and reflective, resulting in organizational capacity and skills development which could communicate what was done, how it was done and why it was done.
