Abstract

This work aims to contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for the production of inclusive cinematographic content (in short film format). Alternative communication techniques for people with special needs are addressed, including deaf, blind and deaf blind, to which correspond the Portuguese Sign Language subtitling and audio description. We intend to learn from operators and television producers / film makers how to adapt the techniques of accessibility to a movie theater and what are the perspectives of professionals on its implementation. For such we have consulted three television operators who use alternative communication techniques and six producers / filmmakers, who responded to a written interview, according to a script prepared for the purpose. The results show that the different players in the process of accessibility communication for film and television concurrently equate possibilities and difficulties. Although seeking to address the need of the target audience and the obligations imposed by law, there are limitations related to production cost. Secondly, the project aims to understand the production process of an inclusive film, namely a short film "The Fairies of Lisbon” which argument evokes the problem of domestic violence.
