The concept of comfort has enormous potential and interest for nursing from the time of Florence Nightingale to the present, being considered as a positive, desirable and sensitive result to the intervention of nurses, namely nurses specializing in child and pediatric health. The state of comfort and its promotion should constitute a central and global element in the provision of care for both children and their families, and should not only be associated with the relief of discomfort, but also become essential to be seen as satisfaction with the care provided and its results. The general objective of this report is based on developing skills of a specialist nurse in child and pediatric health in the light of Katharine Kolcaba's Comfort theory in the various contexts of clinical teaching, namely, pediatric emergency, family health unit and neonatal intermediate care unit, in order to contribute to the promotion of comfort in the pediatric area. Using the project methodology, specific objectives and personalized activities were established for each clinical teaching context, focusing on the child/family taking into account the scientific evidence. In this way, throughout the entire course, informative flyers/posters, guiding documents, training sessions, teaching materials and reflections were prepared in order to achieve the proposed objectives with the greatest excellence and effectiveness. This report allows for a thorough reflective analysis of the activities developed throughout this route, as well as identifying and explaining which skills the nurse specialist in child and pediatric health acquired with their implementation, and the desirable result will always have as a basis for the promote the child´s/family comfort.
