Child and Pediatric Health Nursing currently faces the challenge of accompanying Children and Families in their Health Process, in a medicalized and technically evolved society. In this context, the right to the Parents' Hope regarding the health of their children arises. This hope is assumed as a factor of resilience, motivation and commitment, inherent to the cultural diversity that characterizes our population. The first published studies on Hope in Health Care date from the 1960s and the role of nurses in this context is described for the first time in 1985. Since then, interest and evidence in this area of intervention in Nursing has been growing. The Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health integrates in his skills profile the Promotion of Hope, namely Parental Hope, considering the therapeutic relationship as the essential element for the implementation of the respective interventions. This report is part of the Master's Course in Nursing, in the specialization area of Child and Pediatric Health at Instituto de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. It aims to describe the course developed in the internship contexts, in a critical perspective, of reflection, integrating the professional growth that should reflect the expected competence profile. The Promotion of Hope was considered as a nursing intervention made operational through the therapeutic relationship between Nurse/Child/Family. It was based on Jean Watson's Theory of Human Care, in complementarity with the assumptions and interventions of Zaida Charepe's “Modelo de Intervenção em Ajuda Mútua Promotor de Esperança”.In order to map the scientific evidence on this theme, a scoping review was prepared: Parental Hope and Multiculturalism. At the Family Health Unit, it was possible to monitor and deepen the Child and Youth Health Programs recommended by DGS. Among the activities developed, I highlight the Sensitization of the Health Team for the promotion of Hope in Pediatric Palliative Care; and the Intervention in Parental Hope in support of parenting, using the Hope genogram. At the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, it was possible to monitor and understand the complexity of the care provided and its impact on the family structure of these babies. The learning process provided: the creation of a Promotion of Hope leaflet for Parents of premature babies; the dissemination of the Rights of Parents to Hope and the Training of Nurses in the area of Support for Parental Hope through the Promotion of Bonding and Acceptance of Hope as a key element in the protection of the Health of Parents and their babies. In Pediatric Emergency Room it was possible to integrate the adversity of the context. The families' fragility in the face of the threat to their children's health allowed them to develop skills in supporting the Child and Family, validating their emotions and working together with their uncertainties. The awareness-raising activity for nursing interventions in children with multiple readmissions resulted in a Standard Procedure with a focus on Parental Support through the mobilization of Hope Resources.
